Imagine Mexico

Arts Enrichment

Imagine Mexico: Art Enrichment is a program that strives to enrich people's lives through Mexican art, cultural history, and traditions. Our program has three main goals: to increase access to the arts, promote cultural diversity, and foster creativity and innovation. To achieve these goals, we offer various activities such as lecture demonstrations, music and dance performances, and art-making workshops encouraging creativity and providing hands-on experience in various Mexican folk and traditional art forms. Oral history, demonstrations, and practice accompany our activities.

School Visits
We offer in-classroom music and dance lecture demonstrations for children that showcase traditional Mexican music. These free visits are available to schools in Manhattan Community Board 9.

Workshops at our Studio at Mano a Mano: Mexican Culture Without Borders
For adults, our art-making workshops focus on various traditional crafts from Mexico, such as piñata and other paper crafts, ceramic painting, jewelry making, and traditional embroidery. While our program focuses on celebrating Mexican culture, it also has the potential to promote cultural diversity and bring people from different backgrounds together to increase cultural awareness, pride, and understanding.
