About the event
Join us for a Jewelry workshop!
We invite you to a workshop where you will learn basic techniques for designing and assembling jewelry inspired by Mexican culture.
About the workshop:
Participants will learn how to make a necklace, bracelet, or a pair of earrings using crystals and decorative Mexican accessories. This jewelry-making workshop is open to both individuals who have participated in previous workshops and those who are attending for the first time.
Please note:Â We will work with small components (such as beads and wire) and use hand tools, including pliers and cutters. This workshop requires steady hand-eye coordination and goodclose-up vision. If you use reading glasses or personal magnifiers for detail work, please remember to bring them!
Workshop led by Danny T
Danny is a folk and traditional artist who works with various media. Raised in Puebla and New York, he developed a passion for crafts from a young age. Growing up with his grandparents, he was deeply immersed in Mexican traditions, and one of his earliest memories is his family coming together to prepare offerings for an altar honoring their departed loved ones. This rich cultural background shapes his artistic practice, allowing him to explore and celebrate his heritage through his work.
Free admission. All materials are provided. Please note: Space is limited; advance registration is required. The workshop is for adults.
This workshop is part of the Imagine Mexico: Art Enrichment Workshop series, made possible by the West Harlem Development Corporation, the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature, and by The Mosaic Network and Fund (MNF).
