About the event

In conjunction with the Hispanic Society's exhibition, Wearing Power: Luxury and Status in Ancient Iberia, we invite you to join us for an afternoon of conversation and artmaking.

3 - 4 PM - Gallery Talk with Dr. Noemí Espinosa

4 - 6 PM - Mosaic Workshop with Mano a Mano: Mexican Culture Without Borders

At 3 pm, exhibition curator Dr. Noemí Espinosa will give a gallery talk tracing the formation of the Hispanic Society's world-class antiquities collection. Then, from 4 to 6 pm, explore the art of mosaic-making with Mano a Mano. You'll learn the technique of selecting and arranging tiles and create a beautiful 4x4” mosaic inspired by the Hispanic Society's collection.

Wearing Power: Luxury and Status in Ancient Iberia is currently on view until January 5, 2025.
