Danny Tepi

Artist and Curator

Danny Tepi, born in New York and raised in Santa Ana Coatepec, Puebla, and New York, has demonstrated a lifelong passion for crafting. Growing up in the presence of his grandparents and surrounded by Mexican traditions, he developed a deep appreciation for his cultural heritage. Recalling fond memories of family gatherings to prepare offerings for the altar to honor their departed loved ones, Danny Tepi draws inspiration from these traditions.

In addition to creating this year's altar installation, Danny Tepi shares his expertise by leading workshops on traditional crafts, including piñata making and jewelry crafting. Furthermore, he is a leatherworker who creates leather goods, and costume jewelry, demonstrating his commitment to preserving and celebrating Mexican artistry and traditions.
