About the event

Join the Ballet Folklórico Mexicano de Nueva York for its 10th Annual Guelaguetza Festival at Socrates Sculpture Park.

About the Guelaguetza

Guelaguetza, whose name comes from the indigenous Zapotec word “to give” or “to offer,” takes place in Oaxaca City, Mexico, every summer and showcases Oaxaca's dances, music, and traditions. Each region brings to the festival and its participants something “to give,” representing that region, including the much-loved “Dance of the Pineapple.”
